Safe firearms handling is very important Evryone should know how to recognize safe gun handling, and UNSAFE gun handling, so they know if it is time to leave, or time to run. With the creation of California’s AB2571 all Youth Shooting Sports were outlawed, pending the outcone of lawsuits against the state. Going forward we will provide coaching for parents and grandparents at these event.
We have 2000 sq ft of dry coverage for everyone, Usually we shoot March through October, BUT check the calendar for any changes.
What is provided?
– Hearing and Eye protection
– Firearms
– Ammo
– Targets
-One on one coaching
– NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program

What to bring?
– WATER (there is no drinkable water at the range, Bring Plenty To Drink!)
– FOOD (always bring a snack or lunch, kids always get hungry and we give them a break to eat)
– Weather appropriate clothing (layers are best, hats suggested)
– Chairs (there are no chairs and few benches)
Personal firearms usage
Personal firearms are ok, they must pass safety inspection by the project leader first. Leave in the car and let the project leader know that you have it and they will give you instructions.
Ammo donations are always accepted.
General Rules
Please show up on time. Please stay to help clean up.
Set up and clean up of the range is part of shooting sports.
If you can only be there for a portion of the time, let Rick know.
The Konocti Rod and Gun Club shooting sports programs are run by Rick Walker, a certified instructor for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Black Powder Muzzle-loading, and a Range Safety Officer.
The most important lesson taught is SAFETY and SAFE FIREARMS HANDLING. Rules of the range and safety will be covered and reinforced at every meeting.
